Oral care products such as toothpaste are formulated to contain abrasives, which enables the mechanical removal of plaque and staining during brushing.

This study was designed to assess the ability of a toothpaste formulation versus a negative control to
reduce dentine tubule permeation.

This in vitro method has been developed at Intertek CRS to compare the ability of oral care products versus controls to prevent a plaque biofilm from growing onto the surfaces of roughened glass rods.

This test was carried out using blocks of human enamel that were set into cuvettes using self-curing methyl methacrylate resin.

This in vitro test was undertaken to compare the ability of a toothpaste formulation to remove stained pellicle from the surface of bovine enamel, versus a reference abrasive.

Still passionate about dentistry, Dr. O’Malley made a move to California, intent upon pursuing the latest in cosmetic dentistry as well as continue his work in the fields of minimally invasive dentistry and biological, holistic dentistry.

As the years continued he became more and more convinced of the need for more advanced oral health products. The vast majority of patients and full-mouth restoration cases he was treating all suffered from various stages of gum disease and tooth decay.

Dr O’Malley has been successfully practicing dentistry for more than 30 years. He currently runs a successful holistic and natural cosmetic dentistry practice located in Encino, California.

He graduated from the prestigious Creighton University School of Dentistry and opened his first practice in the Midland, Texas area. He rapidly boomed his single office practice and went on to expand to multiple locations and became the largest dental provider in West Texas and Eastern New Mexico.

Later, he joined forces with a National Dental Management Group. They took over the day-to-day running of the practices and continue to do so to this day.

Relying solely on fluoride toothpaste for oral care has several drawbacks. Fluoride toothpaste alone cannot effectively combat plaque buildup, gum disease, or maintain a balanced oral microbiome.
